Hot damn! Was this an awesome read or what!And so it was.
It was like an episode of CM (one of my all time fav series) but with hot, explosive, intense, hard sex between FBI team leader, hard as nails Sam, and the hottest bartender ever, lovely Mac.
I need to refresh my English vocabulary to try and make justice to how hot their relationship is, and by relationship I mean just sex (with a hint of more to come)
Every time they come together is hottest than the last, sexy as hell and dare I say sweet at times. But mainly all kinds of Holy Frakking Mother of all that's HOT and Damn!
But both of them have past that they can't let go, secrets they can't share just yet maybe ever and they are damn stubborn with a side of life being harder when you can't admit things even to yourself.
They just make everything that should be easy and come natural, complicated and painful and 37 kinds of freaking crazy for themselves.
You get to peak in both their heads as the POV switches throughout the book. Which I love.
Actually, some of the MCs friends and teammates get their POV at points. I liked that. Gives you wider perspective though that many ppl chiming in could get a little confusing. But all in all its a positive thing. Get to know the SCs a little since most likely they'll have the own story lay out for them soon enough.
Hopefully Logan soon. And Remy. My fav out of the SCs
And you have a plot as well. Shockingly good one too.
A serial killer is 'saving' young gay guys from themselves. Offering them redemption while ending their lives. Frakking scary bastard too, self righteous, Arkham asylum crazy. Almost as smart as he is mentally insane. And I love that he gets a POV in some chapters too...
The FBI team lead by Sam is after this lunatic full on and it feels like they are circling closer and closer. But not yet!
Right down engaging, interesting story here. Deep, broken, real ppl starring in it, too...
And HOT. Let's not forget HOT!
Of course the story ends with you balancing on the cliffhanger trying not to fall into frakking despair...
I'm so happy the 2nd book is out!
Hope to get some closure and some hint to a HEA there.
And hope is as intense, explosive, scorchingly hot, engaging and just plain great as this one was!

So, $8.99 is more than I like to spend on eBooks, but the reviews were good, the 392 page length is long for this genre, and the sample made me want to read more so I took a chance and boy was I glad I did! Over 7000 locations by the way...
Ms. Donovan got me hooked on her story with the prologue... I love me a good mystery.
On the serial killer / mystery part of this book
-The killer is a man who is gay, but is ashamed/homophobic because of religious beliefs.
-This is a great freaking mystery. I have no clue who the guy is. I have my prime suspect, but there are at least four other names (5 including Peter a.k.a the killer, but that was assumed to be a false name) and really it could be any of them. In my experience, authors tend to make one character seem guilty, but it never ends up being that person. However, with this book we don't get to spend time with the possible suspects (at least not very much) and so it is not really possible to say "I know who did it". If the killer turns out to be someone who is not one of those four names and is a more primary character, I will be truly shocked. All of that to basically say the mystery aspect of Six Degrees of Lust is not predictable.
The one thing I'm DYING (no pun intended) to know is who the wolf and the lamb are? Is the lamb one of the primary characters? Or are they totally unrelated? I have suspicions, but I just don't know. The killer made a comment about his lamb almost being fixed or something and now i just HAVE to know more. Is the guy referred to as the wolf in the epilogue the same guy as in the prologue or just another guy the killer sees as a wolf? So many questions!
Romance part
A chance meeting and lust at literally first sight leads to a long distance faux Friends With Benefits (With Rules of course cause Sam thinks he doesn't want an emotional relationship)
Anyway, these two are a hoot. What do you get when you mix snark and sarcasm with blatant sexual flirting and poorly disguised emotional attachment? The answer is Smac talk! HA! Smac = Sam and Mac
I don't know who these guys (mostly Sam) think they are fooling, but I had a good time watching it (well, reading it, but you know what I mean). Seriously, I loved their interactions... I wanted to smack Sam upside the head a few times, but he was so easy to see through that I couldn't help but forgive him.
And the Florida trip and the little surprise the guys get the last morning is funny to "watch", but very revealing too.
I don't know how Ms. Donovan managed this, but just about every character that gets significant "screen" time is connected to every other person in some form or another.
Sam knows Mac (obviously) but he is best friends with Logan
Mac knows Sam (obviously) but he is best friends with Remy
Mac knows Christian
Logan meets Christian (and Gabi) through Adam
Christian knows Remy and he knows Gabi
Gabi knows Sam and meets Logan through Christian
Christian and Mac and Remy all know Braxton
Sam's nephew Nicky meets this young teen named Sasha
Logan recognizes Sasha from LGBT center
Sam recognizes Sasha from a previous case
Christian knows Sasha because he wants to photograph the kid
All the FBI guys and Christian, Braxton, and Remy have met Ryan Lewis (the guy who went on a date with the assumed serial killer)
Ryan knows Sasha because he's a nurse and he helped the kid see his grandmother before she passed away
See what I mean! But somehow it all works and none of it is confusing.
Great read and hopefully is the first of many...*crossing fingers* cause I NEED MORE!!!!!!
