Book three continues the story of Noelle and her hot cop. If you liked the first two books in this series you’ll enjoy this one. Each of the book in this series is a decent length yet still focussed on one couple. Unlike most series I read nowadays where a different couple get to feature in the next book of a series.
Murder aplenty in Holly Woods and the introduction of Gio and more of Nonna’s antics had me feeling a crack fic was in the making.
I’m enjoying the authors writing but given there are three other books in this series I’m hoping the story isn’t dragged out just for the sake of it.
Tethered Bond is the third book in the Holly Woods series. Noelle and Drake are back for another adventure and I must tell you I could not have been happier to have another book to read with Noelle and Drake. There is a new case for them to solve, but their relationship has progressed. Drake continues to be a bossy alpha and Noelle continues to be independent and it continues to make for great chemistry and some fun scenes. Noelle's family is back again and her grandmother now also has a British parrot named Gio that makes scenes with him and Noelle so completely entertaining. I laughed out loud in this book as I did with the previous two because seriously Noelle's family is just the best. You feel that you are a fly on the wall watching the antics of Noelle's family and enjoy every minute of it. Emma Hart has treated us with this series to some of the best characters ever written. The story is excellent and suspenseful as are the previous two. Once again you must read the other two books in the series prior to reading Tethered Bond to enjoy the book to the fullest. Because these books are so good you will be happy that is the case. I cannot think of why anyone would complain about reading excellent stories with great characters. I am excited to read the next book in the series.
I don't always read romantic suspense, but if it's Emma Hart's Holly Wood Files Series, I do. I know I'm going to have a great reading experience and I always look forward to finding out she's written a new book in the series. Knowing that, you already know I was eager to read Tethered Bond. I've totally fallen for Noelle and Drake, and all the craziness that comes with them.
It's hard to explain what it is about Noelle that makes me like her so much. I love how determined she is to do things her way and do them right. I love how dedicated she is to solving the cases she gets even if they are just following cheating spouses or a rash of unsolved murders. She really does give her all to her career. I also love how she seems hard on the outside, but is soft on the inside, especially when it comes to her family and Drake. I can also totally relate to her sweet tooth. There isn't much an amazing cupcake can't do.
I really enjoyed seeing Noelle and Drake again. They're still settling into a relationship, but it's clear they're much more comfortable with each other and their feelings for each other run deeper than they appear. Of course they still have their wonderful banter, and they've quickly become each others go-to when needing comfort. I loved the way Drake was protective of Noelle even when he didn't need to be and I loved how she was the same. The two of them make a great team when they work together.
While the case Noelle and Drake were facing this time was serious, I had my hunches about who the culprit or culprits might be. Instead, it was they why people were being murdered that interested me. I also loved how the seriousness of the case was broken with levity from Noelle's crazy family. Nonna of course was up to her usual tricks but had diverted her attention from Noelle with a new pet and focusing instead on Brady, Noelle's younger brother and his upcoming nuptials. Gio, the parrot was certainly something else. He for one wasn't afraid to speak his mind and was a barrel of laughs.
Tethered Bond is a great read. It's full of action, suspense, romance, and mystery. I enjoyed finding out a little bit about Noelle's past when she was a police officer and the case that caused her to come back to Holly Woods. There are a number of story arcs and they all tie together to make a fantastic tale that'll keep you turning pages and wanting more. I'm already eager and excited for the next book in the series. Noelle, Drake, and the citizens of Holly Woods certainly keep things lively.
